Depends on how long it has been. She copuld be tired and overstimulated so try laying down with her and patting her back and making a shhhh'ing noise to kinda lull her to sleep. She could be teething so maybe rub her gums and see if it stop or if she starts bearing down on your finger then you'll know it's teething.

Also - check for a temp - I usually put my lips against my daughters forhead and if she feels warm then I take her temp. If she has a temp over 100 and you can't figure out what is wrong then I'd cal the on call doc at her pediatrician. If she has no temp but she keeps screaming for over 3 hours - call the on call doc.

Also - if she's been fed - try keeping her in a sitting position in case maybe it's reflux. Or possibly even gas like the others have said. mylicon never did anything fo my baby girl but it might for yours - its supposed to basically disolve the gas.... which cnofused me for a bit cause at first I thought it would make her burp more to expel it or something - but nope.

There are so many things it could be but hopefully it's something simple. Good luck and I hope it's nothing big.

She could have colic, she could have a cold, she could have an ear infection, she could be bored, she might not WANT be put back in her crib. What do you do? Figure it out, babies have different types of cries for different things. You're going to have to start learning what her cries mean. In otherwords start listening to her. If it's a constant "droning" (like an annoying buzz) cry then she might be sick (probably ear infection) if it's a good wailing cry more likely a tummy ache, it could also mean that she is STILL hungry, she may be stepping up in eating, they don't sta on just a few ounces during their infancy.

My baby girl was the same way. My doctor said she had alot of gas in her tummy and told me to give her all this medication over the counter. I wasn't about to do that. I found out that giving her 2-3 ounce of rice water, which is perfectly safe, eased her. The night I gave it to her she slept like a baby should. And mommy got some well needed sleep as well.

Oh, by the way, my baby girl is now 15 year old.

Try a bath? If not too cold outside, try to take her outside? A car ride? We tried all these things when our son was colicky...sometimes none worked... sometimes they would. Does she have a tummy ache? Our baby was really gassy too-so we used Mylicon drops to help that! could also be teething as well... try to look for some teeth if she keeps crying into tomorrow!- we used tylenol for teething, cold rags, teethers, anything to try to soothe him.

goodluck! If you are really worried about her, take her to the doctor tomorrow-or at least call them!

Make sure she is comfortable. Get a clean rag, put an ice cube in it. Let her suck on it, hold onto it for safety reasons. If she stops crying, binngo, new teeth on the way.

check her for fever. If there is no fever she may be teething, fighting a cold, have colic, or just feel like crying.

If it repeats for days in a row, or more than 3 times a week, she may have colic and need to have her formula, or your diet (if you're breast feeding) changed.

She might have heartburn, or she might be teething. Try putting her legs up towards her chest and see if her crying slow down. If it does its probably heartburn or gas. If she is still crying it could be that she is teething. I'm thinking that it might be that she is teething.

swaddle her tightly in a large recieving blanket, then give her a paci. Also stand up and rock her back and forth fast at first until she starts to calm down...
