I think we are born neutral with a very curious mind. Are guided by the people and society around us to be what we will become. Good and bad

I believe we are born with both good and bad inclinations. God gave us free will, which means we get the choice of doing what we want to do and, depending on our genes, our surroundings, outside influences and our own innate reasoning we can do whichever we choose as we live our lives. What one person sees as bad another may not, so it is also a subjective view point that decides what is good and what is bad. So, we all have the capacity to be good or bad. We have to choose on a daily, rather at any given moment, choose within our power and ability how we are going to act or react, thus influencing others to see us as they do and even possibly influencing someone else to choose good over bad. I believe that God gave us the earth and everything in it so we could all live in peace and have plenty for every single person. But, the capacity to choose evil over good and man's greed and selfishness has brought us to a place where if we don't change, none of us will survive. We are using up all our natural resources and when they are gone, what then? That is why we all need to do whatever we can do to make good decisions daily to keep the earth healthy for the next generation, maybe they won't be so greedy, and LOVE money so much. the word says The LOVE of money is the root of all evil, not money itself. So, there you go. Just my opinion.

I believe that we were intended to be good, but free will allowed us to be bad. I don't know what you believe as far as religion...
But I believe that we can make a conscious (spelling?) choice to be good and to work on it daily. It starts with our thought life--what we feel and THEN how we react. For example, all humans are violent. Just some decide to act on it. It is through our environment, values, etc that influence the decision. This can be proven. Imagine if someone swung into your face and hit you. A first reaction would be to hurt them, but some choose the high road and don't retaliate--they turn the other cheek. On the other hand, some would fight back... This is a very mild example...

We are taught to be good and struggle with it often. If this were not so, then we wouldnt have crime rates, etc so high. We wouldn't have to try so hard not to be bad if we were so good.

There is more to it than you might think. Adam the first man sinned and brought sin upon the whole world and that is why we sin and are born in sin. We are the children of Adam. That is why we have to be born again with the new birth in Christ. Jesus told a man once except you be born again you can not see the Kingdom of God. He responded to Jesus and asked How can a man be born again when he is old can He enter the second time into his mothers womb and be born. This man was a religous leader in Israel at the time and Jesus told him are you a leader in Israel know not these things. But Jesus spoke of the spirit and not the flesh.
Since Jesus came and died and rose from the grave man has been getting born again. All that believe are born again if they continue in the faith and walk in obediance.
Satan is the author of evil and he is still influencing man today and holding their minds in darkness.
Sincerely,

Supposedly the Bible says we are all born sinners. I believe that we've lost a lot of meaning in translation and perhaps what was meant was that we are all born with the capacity to sin. Nobody is perfect. We're taught right and wrong but most people have a conscience as part of human nature. I think I'm more good than bad. :)

I think they're born good, but events that occur early on influence whether they stay good.

I have read that sociopaths, or people with absolutely no conscience, for whatever reason, often were not given the opportunity to bond with their caregivers as infants. It is suggested that it somehow alters their brain chemistry and makes them sociopathic when they are older.

I don't know if it's true, but it seems believable to me. It's a topic that interests me because I realize now that my ex-husband is a complete sociopath. So is my husband's ex-wife. Experts figure that 4% of the population is just BAD.

Avoid these people. They will devastate your life.

Humans have a free will. However your environment growing up certainly plays a huge factor. Being taught morals and values and right from wrong and respect for others and manners is all shaped while you are growing up and what you are taught at home.
But I do believe that there are some chemical differences and some people are just inherently bad. Or good for that matter.

I believe we are born with the ability to be good and bad. The environment in which we are raised forms our ability to act or react to different stimuli.

Take for example the cycle of abuse...
If everyday we are beat, being told we are no good, yelled at, or worse, we may say we won’t do the same to our children but when we get into stressful situations we tend to react in the same manner. In our hearts we don’t want to but we do. However, this cycle can be broke with counseling and learning new ways to deal with different situations.

I believe the primary way we are taught to either be good or bad is through example. For example... Does it make sense to tell our children not to smoke or drink if we do it?

Not born Bad, but born selfish and amoral.

It takes 18 years of parenting to suppress the selfish urge and mold a human into a creature that is fit to keep the company of other civilized people.

Success rates for achieving civilized human being status-- about 20%.

Humans are born with both the capacity for good and for evil. We are where the two intersect. All of nature, save humanity, are unbiased and serve only their own needs; however, they stay in balance with nature. The predator becomes prey and vice versa. We alone can change our environment to suit our own needs. We have produced Hitler and Ghandi...is this not enough to see that we are both?
