How do you know if you are of a superior intelligence than most people?

Depends on what you mean by "intelligence". All people have talents and limitations, such as visual ability ( i.e, artists) , verbal ability, problem solving, etc. Mainstream society uses the IQ test to determine "intelligence" ( yet the test is only good at measuring problem solving ability). Psychologists use several tests to establish a person's baseline intelligence level with all abilities taken into consideration. People with a problem-solving IQ of 150 or more are eligible for MENSA, yet people who aren't eligible for MENSA can have superior intelligence in other areas, such as vocabulary or visual ability. The "average" IQ is around 100, so anything between 101-149 is above average, and 150 or higher is considered genius.

Take an IQ test with a psychologist if you want to get real proof, but some signs may be:
-You get good grades, and you don't even have to study
-You have the ability to get into honors/advanced classes
-You're multitalented
-You feel like you don't fit in because you have different interests, and can't understand how other people enjoy life with their interests
-You have a learning disability, such as ADD or ADHD (surprisingly)

Spending time here on yahoo answers makes most of us feel smarter than others, lol.

Take an IQ test. Wait 6 months and take another. If both come out higher than average than you can consider yourself to be above average.
