Even though Hondas will run for 300,000 miles seriouslly consider the price of the transmission that you can find that would work with that Accord. Normally, Hondas are the cheapest cars to replace parts for because they're everywhere EBay, junk yards, ect., but a transmission is still a transmission and it will set you back. Also, if it's an automatic now, unless you wanted to dump more money into this car to install a clutch and stick and all new connecting parts, you don't even want to consider it. Go to the Kelly Blue Book link down below to see the real worth of that car before you buy it. Put in bad transmission, and if there's rust or dents or anything else either pro or con too to get an accurate price range. At the CarFax site, put in the Honda VIN number to see if its been in any accidents you don't know about. Hope this all helps!

If the rest of the car is real good, I'd say that would be a good thing to do. Trannys are relatively easy to replace. I would NOT consider changing to a 5spd, because the car's computers and other parts are set up for the auto, but if you would settle for AT, I think you may have a winner!

I don't think so! Trans axles are very expensive! Call your local transmission shop and ask how much for a rebuilt tranny

no. u cannot use a 5 speed, b/c the computer controls your transmission. And that would affect the computer and would not work right.

Sure, you can replace it for about $3500.
But what's going to go wrong next? It never stops at one thing.
Even at the good price your paying, you'll end up with a money pit that'll cost you a whole lot more than that.

yea it's worth it I don't think 1900 is unreasonable but if you want to lower the price to 1500 whatever floats your boat.

it will have to be automatic when your done to many differences and parts. let's see $1,500 car half way worn out by the way $2,800 transmission sound like a deal to you?
