As I am "a child of the 70s", it would have to be that decade...so many great bands, performers, and a real mixed bag:

Rod Stewart, Led Zep, Stones, Styx, Supertramp, Frampton, Eagles, Barry Manilow, Heart, Elvis, The Beatles, John Denver, Deep Purple, Paul Anka, The Bee Gees, Donna Summer, Temptations, Zappa, Billy Joel, Guess Who, BTO, Heart, ABBA, Crosby, Still, Nash & Young, Clapton, The Kinks, Tom Jones, etc. etc.

for dancehall it has to be the 90s. that's when the music wasn't all about gimicks, it was about lyrics not elephant man amking up stupid dances.
for slow grooves the 80s has it locked down. 'right here waiting for you'by richard marx, mj at his finest
the 90s for RnB too. Jodeci, H-Town, Boyz 2 Men, Mariah. classics, great music.
