No. They have goaltending issues and their defence is too slow.

I don't think the problem with the flyer's is coaching staff. Personally I think its to easy for a team to lose game after game and then blame the coach. That takes the pressure off the real problem ... not sure I know what there real problem is other than they seem to be having trouble playing in the new NHL. this is the second year of the new NHL I'd of thought that there should not be any team still having trouble with the new rules..

No, no, no, no. They still have the same ineffective defense they have had all year. I love it when people blame the coaches for the team sucking. Look at what Hitchcock has done in his career. He is a great coach. I have to say that unless the Flyers get some steady goaltending and some mobile defensemen, they are in huge trouble the rest of the way. Pitkanen is by far their best defenseman. Too bad they cant clone him 5 times.

No, Hitchcock was a good coach. The problem was with Management, Bobby Clarke didn't have his head in the game and drafted and signed guys using the old NHL rules. He has NOT built a team to be competitive with the new league format. The Sabres are a perfect example of how to build to make the most of the new NHL rules. The Flyers lack speed on defense and have no cap room to add any new speed. I love Forsberg but they used up too much cap room on his contract. Apparently Bobby isn't good at math. The Oilers and Hurricanes are good examples of teams that built under the cap with quality guys not one or two superstars.

No, the players are undisciplined, dirty, and selfish. Their #2 goalie (Niittymaki) is better than their #1 goalie (Esche), Forsberg is supposed to be a leader, but I don't see it there. They have very little in the way of talented players, and their defense is very slow, as was exploited by the Sabres. This team won't get better without a new attitude, Forsberg being the player he was in Colorado, and some defensemen that can move.

I'm not a Flyers fan, and I'm not saying this just to trash them, if it was my Ducks or Sabres, I'd be honest about what's going on, same as I am here.

Yes. Only because they have too much talent to be doing this badly. But, no it's not because of the new coach. It'll be because of the shake-up. Hitchcock is a great coach and should be snapped up by another club almost immediately. The flyers just have to get their heads on straight.

I don't really know much about the new coach accept a little history. I do know they needed to get rid of Hitchcock. I believe it was already said that he never smiled, and never really seemed to be there for the team win or lose. I really hope their new coach gives them the motivation and kick in the *ss they've been needing. I also think some of it has to do with trying to get their chemistry together. They don't look very intuned with eachother as other teams do. They are a great team and once they get their act together they'll be kicking butt!!!!

the coach doesnt matter, the guy that matters is the trainer, as long as forsberg is healthy, the flyers will be ok, he is the heart and soul of that team and the best player in the league, the coaching change brings change to the dressing room, and it will not see imediate results, but eventually, if forsberg and gagne stay healthy, they will be fine

Since they are 1-6-1 can they do any worse? Of course they will do better!

What they need is new OWNERSHIP.

GO FLYERS!

Yes - Hitch was a grumpy old man that never smiled and never praised his team, never inspired them and, when they won, he seemed to want all the credit.
Also there is rumor that he got in a lot of player's faced off-camera and the latest being that he and Eche got into a confrontation right before the Sabre's game...... Looks to me like Snider took Eche's side of whatever situation it was.

Enough is enough! See ya Hitch!!!

Go FLYERS!!!!
GO!!!
