I am a nurse who worked for years in labor and delivery. The youngest mother I helped was 11. Most young girls have very easy deliveries because their bones have not completely knit together and when the baby is born, their bones move apart easily to allow the baby to pass through.
I have a niece who had a baby while still in high school, so was her boyfriend. They have been married for 11 years and now have 3 sons. You will have to work very hard and endure much, but if you stick together, grow together and decide to love each other (yes...decide...love in real life is a decision) you CAN make it. You both have to be adults now,
I wish you all love, life and happiness.

There are many different things that can affect how your life will be with your child. One thing first, you know that you don't HAVE to marry your child's dad, right? Story: My sister got pregnant when she was 16. She married the father. Lived in rented, run down trailers, got pregnant with baby #2. Never worked, oh did I forget to say that she didn't finish school. Her husband cheated on her, all the did was fight. They lived in filthy run down places, his mom's house too. Then she got pregnant with baby #3. He cheated some more, she cheated, they fought and got divorced. Single mom now with 3 kids, hasn't worked in 6 years. Child support? What's that? She didn't get any. Meet a man, moved in together. To another run down rented trailer where the toilet is going thru the floor. At this point she has 3 kids, no education, no way to support her kids, living on welfare. Sound fun? I didn't think so. Ok, so you are pregnant. I'm not going to tell you to give up your child. What I am going to tell you is to finish your education! There are MANY programs out there to help you do that. At this point in your life you have to grow up fast and swallow your pride. Ask for help from your school counselor, church, wherever you can find it. Do some research on the internet. Think about this, you can make your childs life a good one or a "trashy" one. I don't think anyone would choose trashy. Your education is the key. Yes it's going to be very very hard but think about what kind of future you want for yourself and your child. Did I say that you DON'T have to marry the dad. Just wanted to point that out.

I didn't have a baby but there are people who have kids at a younger age. I reside in California and there are girls who have their children at an age early as 14 years old. There was this 8th grade girl (14 years old) who got pregnant by a guy that was one year older, and I knew him. They currently have two kids and the girl is only a Sophomore in High school while he is merely a Junior. I was very surprised when they had their second child, They are Filipino and the parents are usually very cool, and understanding. It's good that their parents help out as much as they can though. Good luck, and congrats.

So who is going to pay for raising this child? At 16 no one is going to hire you or your boyfriend full time. Even fast food places are begining to require their fry hawkers be at least 18, some are now even requiring a two year college degree. And I KNOW minimum wage isn't going to go very far. I also know you will probably never be able to save enough for this child to go on to collegeg so the poor child will be stuck in a minimum wage position all his/her life. The only advice I have is not what you WANT to hear so I'm not even going to bother. I'll just sit her and watch my paycheck dwindle even more because taxes to pay welfar keep going up...I work to pay my bills, my rent, raise my child and half of the money I make goes to pay someone else's bills and to raise their kids...

my best friend in high school had a baby when she was 15. I wouldn't say her life ended, but it was definitly hard for her. Her child is a very happy 14 yr old now, she didn;t have any regrets.

I was sixteen when I got pregnant. And seventeen when I had my baby. Fortunately that father was basically the **** and was always there for me. It's hard at first, because you can't go and party and you can't do as much as you could. But it's amazing how supportive people are.

Please consider adoption. It is not what you want anymore it is what is best for the baby. A stable 2 parent home will provide your child with an enviroment to thrive. I am 30 and happily married with a 1 year old and still have not caught my breath.

Good luck
