I think that we need a novel leader, who isnt about war, but who is a people's candidate, who sticks to his guns, and who can fix this. the republicans will never fix it must likely. Let's pray for a strong dem leader!

I have thought long and hard about this. The Dems have to win the next president election, the republicans could never fix their own mess. At least Clinton left us in great shape, I sure wish he could come back!

What a catch 22. I wouldn't want to be the next president for all the tea in China.

Make no mistake - we will fight the Islamic radicals sooner or later if we leave Iraq before it is stabilized - and, if it's later, they will be better organized, more confident and better equipped. Cut and run is not a viable option - we cannot allow any group any kind of victory who uses tactics of murder and maiming innocent men, women and children to further their demented ideology. If victorious, they certainly won't give these tactics up - and why would they? - if they're successful?
The next president will be in a very difficult position - there is no way he can be all things to all people and still defend this country from a radical group of murderers.
Barring a great change in the progress in Iraq in the next two years, I don't see how a the next president can do anything but stay the course - perhaps with different tactics or military policies - but with the same objectives.
I wonder why any sane person would want to take on this proverbial can of worms..........

Thats genius! Yes! All the Democrats should leave government so that the Republicans can fix "this mess". All kidding aside, you all have it wrong. Everyone is pointing fingers at one side or the other. The problem isnt Democratic, or Republican. Its Politicians. Lets face it, they are all corrupt to some extent. Both sides are sticking it to us and they are getting away with it because they created sides which forces us to choose then square off against each other. If we didnt they would be out of a job because we the people wouldnt put up with this b.s. for long.

Bush inherited a mess. It will take a long time to clean it up. Dems, given the chance, will make it worse, so yes, it will be better if the Dems don't win.

what would be fair is for them to win since they created this mess to start with by allowing terrorist to create terror at will on their watch. They should have to clean it up. What wouldn't be fair is to elect them to the presidency and make it worse since they have developed the habit of not cleaning up their own messes and relying on the republicans to do so, then "what iffing" them out of office.

Fix it?

We've had too much Republican "fixing" of things.

Time for a big change.
