I know this may seem funny, but play games. Puzzles of all sorts, and videogames can help you learn many things, such as learning locations faster, responding to things quickly, gaining a better sense of direction, memorize things better, hand and eye coordination, and of course, reflexes.
As a plus, people who play videogames become better drivers as well. ;)

Kudos to James for hitting the nail on the head! You can't really increase the "capacity" of your brain, since you are limited with a set number of cells, and alas, a certain IQ level. But you can increase your cognitive (learning) ability and your memory power.
Like J said, Ginkgo Biloba is an herbal supplement that has been used for thousand of years by the Chinese and now is popular in the West. Ironically, it comes from the tree by the same name, which is the oldest treet on earth--dating back to dinosaur times! The herb works by increasing blood flow in the arteries to the brain. This would be like getting a bigger carbeurator for your car! More fuel=more power.
I've used Ginkgo for about six months and have notived a big difference in my short-term recall and my problem-solving skills. Recommended doage is 120 mgs. daily.
Another great way to improve brainpower is practice! Puzzles, reading, etc. The brain is like a muscle, bro: use it or lose it.

i've got heard learn that purport to respond to this question, yet you won't like the outcomes. while you're desperate to extend your ideas ability, you should be arranged to do issues like here: * enjoying Scrabble * reading very long novels with complicated tale traces * Writing prose, loads of it, until your individual sentence shape gets extra complicated additionally, you should eat a healthful low fat nutrition plan and get loads of exercising, exceptionally cardio exercising. so a techniques as i will tell, the nutrition plan and exercising are just to furnish you the ability to play extra scrabble. Sudoku the two would not count variety or hasn't been studied yet. For now it must be scrabble. The above measures have been been strongly correlated with *no longer* getting Alzheimer's or different styles of dementia once you're older. i think of that's not unreasonable to assume that those issues might make you smarter on the same time as youthful, yet you should ask your self, is that this fairly properly worth it? long reading and writing assignments, board video games, human beings telling you what to eat, and gymnasium? that's like regressing returned to intense college. those with Alzheimer's can revisit intense college or the different element of their existence as many times as they like, and that i'm tremendously beneficial additionally they edit each and every thing to make it lots extra effective. you are able to not do this inclusive of your intense ability great precise memory.

There are several drugs out there that increase the blood flow to the brain: ginkgo, vinpocetine...just to name a few. There is also evidence that holding your breath under water has the effect of dilating certain arteries, resulting in increased blood flow to the brain.
