Dont' get a Jack Russell Terrier if you don't have a barn i am serious i have a JRT and it is torture i am not going to give him away because i have grown attached to the ball of energy however it is a very difficult dog and doesn't listen I recommend a German Shepard if u r looking for a loyalty/watcher but i like the miniature Pinscher so cute also a Greyhound is rather obedient

Small dogs are 2 high matenece. The bigger the dog the more obedient they are. Small dogs are almost impossible to train to use the bathroom outside. I have had all kinds of dogs and the smartest seem to be the German Shepard

Mixed breeds are always the best. They usually get the best characteristics of the breeds they are mixed with. If you are interested in a breed (do a lot of research on them first!) you can search by breed as well.

the best kind of dog is the kind at shelters everywhere.. the ones in need of adoptive "forever" homes...
please NEVER NEVER buy from a pet store - you will pay too much for a low qualty pup and contribute to the cruel industry of puppy mills....
you can go many times to the SPCA or shelter and wait til the right dog comes along = this is always best.. and this is the best dog becuase its a dog who NEEDS a home.. and it will love you forever

My favorite is Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. It's a big dog in small package! They do have some health problems so anyone getting these should see puppy's parents' and grandparents' healt records.

for a big dog i like a berneese mountain dog because they are really good with kids theyare nice and very good family dogs!:)) but i mostly preffer dogs from the shelter because when you get a dog from their you feel like you saved someone!!:))

There are so many great and sweet puppies killed every day in the pound. Go down and find one which isn't too hyper and isn't too quiet, and which looks cute to you!
(I've only ever had strays and pound-rescues my whole life, and always had good luck.)

Get a mutt from the shelter. They are more appreciative and mutts are generally healthier than pure breds.
