victed of a Level III Misdomenor sex offence with a minor. Do you believe that Canada should be willing to accept this type of judgement from an American judge. This has the making of a major diplomatic blunder. This individual is an American with a Visa to live in Canada.

It was a deplorable decision on behalf of the judge, and set the precedent that you can exile you own citizen to foreign countries when they have committed a crime. What he did was also a crime in Canada, the age of convent jumps to 18 when the person is in a position of authority, like a teacher. AND the crime was committed in the united states.

I would really like to know what sort of justification the court has for sending an American criminal to Canada for their system to deal with.

On the bright side, Canada doesn't have to let him back in. They can revoke the visa on the grounds that he has been convicted of a crime and tie him up with Canadian immigration for awhile before shipping him right one back. Indeed that is what is happening.

Sounds okay to me. At least he is outside the border of our country now! Keep him to the north where he cannot intermingle with our more delicate social framework and more sophisticated children!
