I think it is embarrassing, insulting, and stupid.I can't believe some people even call it a language.I really can't stand that they called it a black language.I'm black and I don't want to have anything to do with it.Can you imagine people on the phone saying "who diz iz" ,or "Eh da do loc."That's really sad and sorry.I think Ebonics needs to go.I mean if you speak it don't be surprise if people look down on you.I'm still in schock that they called it a language I just can't let it go.

Its a dialect, not a language seeing as it still is the English language. But for the most part, dialects depend on where you live and what type of town you live in (diversity-wise). Wanna know what dialect I speak? Northeastern Wisconsin Dialect with a heavy Belgian influence - aka hick language (in the eyes and ears of some people). I think that however a person speaks is so cool, though! Every dialect is so beautiful in its own way and the differences that you can hear within different towns is amazing! Dialects are wonderful, but when stereotypes are added to it, it does become demeaning. But whatever you feel about it, thats your feeling. There is virtually no way of erasing a dialect unless people stop speaking it so really...there is no way that Ebonics is going to die as a dialect, I'm sorry to tell you. I'm glad that you have your own point of view and how you think you should speak. Its nice to have differences between people...thats what makes everyone so damn exciting to be around and get to know!

..well, i agree somewat with you, the reason most blacks use ebonics is because they feel that the english language isnt ours...which in a sense is true. English didnt come from black folk, it came from the Anglo-Saxon people, n so most african americans feel that since we came here by force, y adopt the white man's language? n yes i know wat im talking about cause im taking advance academic composition and we talk about british n the origin of the english language... for me personally, i speak "correct" english and ebonics. its not that im ignorant or anything, its just how i talk. i think there should be a TIME and a PLACE for it, a person shouldnt speak it in the work place, in school (especially english class, lol) or around other educated people. but most blacks n whoever speak it fluently<<

I dislike it, too. Can you believe that at one point in time, many people were trying to get it to be a high school class? Can you imagine?

I dislike Ebonics because it slanders the English langauge, and is so stupid sounding.

I don't care how much money a person makes, I'll still think they have an IQ of a peanut if they use Ebonics.

Girl, get a grip on! Of course Ebonics is not a language, it's a dialect. According to the almighty Oprah it was created on purpose to confuse the White slave masters so they wouldn't understand the slaves' conversations. Let go of your repulsion for a minute and think about it. It was a real ingenious way of hanging onto something the white man couldn't take. Without Ebonics Rap, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Soul, and R&B would not be what it is today. Don't knock it. It has merit.

I agree with you, people get mad at the hispanic and other nationalities that come to our country and can't speak english well, I say, what's the big deal? We have as many people born and raised in the United States who can't speak english any better than the immigrants! What is America coming to when we classify the regression of the english language as a "new" or accepted language? Puleeze!!!!

by way of fact people have the unlucky habit of insulting people who disagree with them. additionally by way of fact people tend to have a slender view of issues that for the time of lots of circumstances would not strengthen previous their very own reports. i might wager that many atheists who insist that faith is approximately believing what you're informed have in many circumstances experienced faith in in simple terms that way. easily there are sheeple who in simple terms have self belief what they're informed, blindly and with out concept, yet its a real disservice to assume all non secular people, or perhaps anybody interior of a undeniable faith, behave that way. it quite is stereotyping.
