Kirby Puckett should without a doubt be in the Hall of Fame, He only played 12 seasons because of health reasons. If you're going to complain about guys who belong in the Hall of Fame.. let's start with Bob Caruthers. There are only 3 pitchers in the history of the game with 200+ wins and <100 losses: Al Spalding, Pedro Martinez, and Bob Caruthers. Spalding is in the HOF. Pedro will be in the HOF. Jim Rice should be in the HOF. Andre Dawson is one of those really good players who I think falls a little short of HOF level. If Dawson gets into the HOF Keith Hernandez and Gil Hodges should be in the HOF too. The problem with Smith, Blyleven and Kaat is they're really good players who were never really the best in the league. I'd have no problem voting them into the HOF or leaving them out of the HOF. An argument can be made for both sides of the issue. Dale Murphy, in spite of 2 MVP awards has no business in the conversation. Tommy John played 26 seasons and failed to win 300 games.. thus NOT a HOF player.
