One person suggested" Press alt + 3 to make a heart ♥." It doesn't work. Please be very specific,as I am new to all of this.
For ex: did the instruct.'s mean alt, along with the plus sign and the number 3? Either way, it did not work.

ALT code for heart is:
ALT + 3 or ALT + 9829

This means, hold ALT button down and type the number code on the keypad (numbers at right side of keyboard), then finally release ALT.

Sometimes the reason that it doesn't work is because it is dependent on the current font being used (e.g. Times New Roman works, Terminal is a font that does not work)

♥ ----> hold alt key and press 3, then release alt key

For a bunch of other symbols, experiment with alt + numbers. I have a table with the resultant symbols on it. (I was bored ^^ )

I'm sorry but you can't, go into microsoft word, select insert-symbol and then copy the heart into the field you want on the webpage.

Just use your character map which is in your accessories/system tools; there is a heart there.
