Do you mean an american politician? Nothing, they have diplomatic imunity, and it is not against the law to carry your money down there. You do have to declare it if it is above $10000, so it may be a tad embarrassing whipping it out as it were

Customs and Immigration will both decide it is drug money and you'll be detained. It would be smarter to arrange an electronic transfer of the money through the banking system, keeping each transfer to under $3,000 and no more than one per week.
