Every time I make a turn there is a sound I hear. I took it to a car repair shop and they said that I should have the Rack-&-Pinion assembly replaced but when I took it to another shop for a second opinion the sound vanished. They checked it out and they said everything is OK. Should I ignore the first warning? Who can point me to a site which can help me? Thanks.

Was it a grinding sound when you made the turn? If so then you need to have your rack and pinion look at again. If it is your rack & pinion you need to fix this. You could lose your steering and get into an accadent. This is not something that you want to play around with.

dude my brother has the same car and that sound if its a cracking and popping then its your ball joint and your wheel will in the near future fall off. and he says if its a whistling sound then its your brake calipers, and they are prob rusty. he took his car apart and rebuilt it and he promises that could be the only things wrong that makes a sound when turning

Mechanical problems don't heal themselves. If it was making the sound and then quit, it sounds like it was something else.

You should have given more info on what type sound it was.

Good luck. Pops

Well....Has the sound gone away or not? If it's gone, there is nothing you could do about it anyway. Sometimes things get into a bind and eventually correct themselves...Be glad it went away.
