I need to move my car and can't afford a tow - I need to know how far you think my car will go on a jumped battery or how many times per mile it needs to be jumped

It will die shortly after you remove the jumper cable unless you run the other car thirty minutes to recharge the dead battery. Then you might get twenty minures run time if lights are off no heater fan and A/C. This all depends if the dead car has a reasonably new battery.

your good for a couple hundred miles if you don't use any thing electrical but the battery must be fully charged id have someone follow you or at least take another fully charged battery with you just in case i drove a Toyota for months like that just charged the battery every couple days but the head lights are around 45watts each plus tail lights brake lights ect will kill the battery real quick there not that hard to put on just go to the junk yard and get a used one for about $30.00 charging the battery every day will soon burn it out also id fix it soon

if the battery is compleatly dead and not charging the car will die soon after the cables are removed.you may want to take the battery to be charged with a battery charger....not just a jump....the battery being charged will get you to drive the car a short distance.....do this in the daylight so you dont need to use headlights that will only run the battery down faster....stay on local roads and have someone follow you....good luck

It's not going anywhere on a "jumped" battery! With an alternator you have to have a fully charged battery. As soon as the battery loses charge it will shut off. A fully charged battery should go quite a ways providing you aren't using headlights etc.

you would be waiting to stress wisely to the mechanic. The alternator expenses the battery jointly as you stress. Your battery is flat through fact the alternator isn't working. in case you leap initiate your vehicle you would be large to stress it, because it runs on gas rather than the battery. The battery is principally merely mandatory for commencing the vehicle, and dealing issues like lighting fixtures fixtures and radio while the vehicle is switched off.
