ask your doc.there is no clear evidence that dying your hair can hurt your baby!i have dyed my hair through all 3 of my pregnancies and all is well!if you want to be extra safe tell the hair dresser not to put the dye on your roots so it wont get into the scalp.

It's unknown on humans. When used on lab rabbits, they exposed them to a signifigant amount of chemicals found in hair dye. and some of the offspring came out with birth defects. But unless you dye your hair every week, your baby will be fine. Just try to wait until after the first trimester, that way the babies organs are all developed and working.

Anything that is natural and isn't processed in harsh chemicals is safe. If you're looking to BLEACH your hair, you maay wanna take a step back and think of something less drastic. The fumes may affect the unborn fetus. Here is a good site to consider when dying your hair.

Ammonia free hair dye is safe when pregnant. Try to find a salon that uses Farouk Systems color. no ammonia at all!!!

you should NOT put any chemicals on your skin, hair, nails within the first 12 weeks of pregnancy, I have 5 boys and that means 5 pregnancies I've been through , I know a little about this, lol, you should not take risks with any pregnancies, first, second or even your sixth.....after my wife was 12 weeks pregnant, on her 14 week she got her hair dyed.......be careful ....and good luck

No, it could affect your babies blood system. Honestly, it happened to this girl I know. She died her hair while pregnant and her baby was born with a blood problem, Doctors traced it back to that somehow and the baby had to get a blood transfusion.

I was told by my OB that if it is not put directly on your scalp, like if you just do low lights it will be fine but no whole heads dye.

my dr told me yes. i dyed my hair once or twice during both my pregnancies and all my babies are fine
