I work for local county goverment, and the lowest amount we start out at is $7.00 per hour for seasonal staff such as groundskeepers. It really depends on what you do for a living though. In our company janitors start out at about $10.00 per hour!

However, hourly people get no benefits, such as vacation and insurance.

You'll know you are making a decent range when you are paid a monthly salary with benefits, not just an hourly rate.

location & work place variables on this, a good wage, or a wage ,
Florida and many like hire $5 an hour idiots, get them at $7, think they are smart.

$5.15 is okay for now. As long as consumer prices do not rise. Every time minimum wage goes up consumer prices go up and that is what sucks. That means people can not earn enough to be comfortable at whatever job they do.

If you are paying $700 monthly rent, plus credit card, car insurance, cell phone, and utilities, you can survive on $17 an hour. Anything over that is a bonus.
