I was suprised...the 2K series was good..Soul Calibur was amazing...sea-man...where you could talk to the fish through a microphone on your controller

This has been discussed litterally thousands of times before, and it always comes out with this answer: Timing. People were still having a wonderful amount of fun with the N64, no one wanted to switch over yet. Yet, it was too early to rival the Cube and other 6th generations. It all comes down to the horrible timing.

The Dreamcast failed because Sega's management of all aspects of the system. It was a solid system, but by the time Sega had tried to correct all the mistakes in the past (Saturn, Sega CD) people were sick of paying for their mistakes. Enter Sony PSX, and its overwhelming success and its easy to see why people would be willing to wait for a company that wanted to do it the right way, rather than the half-assed way.

i have a dreamcast and i have to say that the graphics are extremely smooth and clear for an "old age" system. i think the reason why it didnt get too popular was because sony had stolen the scene and nobody really cared about anything else..thats what i think

...shenmue, sonic adventure, crazy taxi, skies of arcadia, phantasy star online, etc. god i had so much fun with dreamcast, but i had to sell it ;( i would like to get another one.
