i love it when guys like sean salisbury steak can offer their expert advice on the NFL players of today and yet he was nothing but a back up qb goof who did not exactly have an impressive career.

I agree.. Sean Salisbury to me is a know it all who feels sorry for himself that his career was worst than Ryan Leafs.. I would love to meet Salisbury in person and punch him in the mouth

Salisbury needed to go. He can go sit on a bar stool and tout his philosophy and "knowledge" about football to whoever he wants. Clayton may not be pretty, but he is objective and can actually give insight without getting so emotional. Salisbury often times came across as bitter and jaded, not a great combination for a sports analyst. Good ridance.

Those who can do, those who can't critique. . .

But one does not have to be a great performer to know the game and have a grasp of the plays and techniques used. If that were the case, there would be a few more "experts" in every sport. I mean really, just because you can do it physically doesn't mean you have a total grasp of the brain part of the game, either. That is why they have coaches. . .

I am a viking fan so I can say he sucked as a player. But as an anouncer I am glad to see someone telling it like it is and not sugar coating everything. Better than michael irvin and his cowboy and TO love, or Dan Marino who picks Miami every week even if they have no shot in hell.
