Seen a few post that state the Republicans scare Mr & Mrs Jo/Jane Smith into voting for them by waving terrorist or other defense issues to the media.

So shouldn't the Democrats and or liberals say why they would also be good at defense or dealing with terrorist? Doesn't the fact that the Mr & Mrs Joe/Jane Smith trust the Republicans better for defense say something that the Democrats should be paying attention too instead of just crying foul?

This is really an amazing time in the history of our country. Our enemies, the radical Islamists have been clear in their statements. In deeds and words, the radical Islamists have made it clear that they want to kill us....all of us. They want to kill us because they don't like our liberal societies.

Most Americans see this threat clearly...and feel that the Republicans are better able to protect them. "Better Baghdad than Boise" is what I have heard over and over.

If the Democrats don't counter the perception that they are apologists for our enemies....we just may lose another presidential election.

Think.

If a Republican had made these statements they would have been called on the carpet by every black member of the House and Senate and Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton and every other black leader in this country...Reid has simply shown which party is the racist party and his comments go along with the 30% of Democrats that refused to vote for Obama because of his skin color. But, Reid is also the moron that said the "public tourist" that come to the Senate stink. He'll be gone in November anyway so we'll only have to deal with the racist for 11 more months.

The Democrats cannot say they are for defense. Their records clearly show the opposite, so you have to give them credit for not thinking everyone is a complete boob. they have a long long history of being weak on defense. The Military even though its an all volunteer force is predominantly Conservative (over 75%) in fact. The democrats have a long row to hoe in getting people to believe they are strong on defense. It's much simpler and actually more honest to just whine and be obstructionist.

Very good question. Now tell me have you read Hillarys plan for Iraq? Have you read John Kerrys plan for Iraq? Have you read the Murtha plan for Iraq? If you were Bush and you were given a PDB that was called "terrorist determined to attack the USA" and in that PDB you were told they "would use hi_jacked commercial planes to blow up buildings" and you were told they were already in this country, What would you do? Would you call the PDB a "historical report". BTW, Only a real idiot like Bush would think a terrorist will stand and fight in Iraq, they will not, they are cowards, they do the dirty work behind our backs. Just like Nam.

yes....but they can't because they don't have a better defense. In turn they preach.."the republicans don't have a defense strategy", to which the Republican reply," the democrats have no plan for a defense", which they don't. Vote Republican, any plan is better than no plan. Vote Democrat and vote, "we're ready for the next 9/11". Vote Republican and vote,"we working on it but one thing is for sure, If you attack US soil we'll kick your butt".

Osama is still out there, free as the breeze.

If there was to be another attack, for instance right before the elections, it would prove that Republicans can not protect us.

(News item: Iraq is creating more terrorists, not less).

Yes. Just look at the Dems defense-related voting record and see what you think.

Republicans are like the guys who come around the neighborhood businesses telling the store owner, "I am sure you need protection..."--knowing full well they are the threat.

Dems just need to get behind one solitary message, whatever that is. If they don't they don't...2008 is a goner.

Yes they are! The Dems only know how to wave the white flag as they cut and run.
