I'm in highschool, and I've noticed that white students and faculty alike really seem to not care about Black History Month. I've heard white students ask thing's like:"Who's Coretta Scott King?" "Who's Rosa Parks?" "I'm tired of Black History Month! What's so special about ******* anyway?" "Why do black people get there own month?" "How come white's don't have a month?" I just don't understand this! Why is it that Black history month is being so disregarded? I would like a BLACK and WHITE view on this. Everyone is free to answer.

Well I think there are just as many black people who don't really know what black history is all about and probably cant even name two significant African Americans who contributed to why we have black history month, alot of black people only know about Martin Luther King Jr.( I have a dream) and Malcolm X,(By any means necessary) so if black people don't even have the respect or drive to know their own roots, why should white people?

If a Caucasian actually said why do African Americans get a WHOLE month for their history they are extremely uninformed. Caucasians have entire books 365 days a year! They must be joking. The attention and merit is finally given to African Americans who have contributed to the foundation and success of this country too. It should be taught right along with regular history but it won't be. The books do not give African descent people the recognition they earned and deserve. I think it's a shame that any one would begrudge giving such an accomplished race 30 days out of a year to show appreciation and some people feel that's too much and they complain about that little bit!!!!! They still don't want us to have any recognition and that's a sad thing.

Because the existence of the observance of Black History Month presumes that "someone" isn't telling the truth in History class by deliberately ignoring a particular race. It poses as an equality measure while being totally biased and promoting racism and divisiveness. There is no "black history" anymore than there is a "white history", there's only "history" and "propaganda".

I could really wish you're the one white man or woman involved approximately black historical past month. Would you love to position a guess on what ridiculous folly will probably be thrust upon us this yr? I placed $five.00 on a primary moon touchdown via blacks. C'mon, that is the one factor left we have not been resulted in think.

Do black people respect white history month? What are you looking for? People are morons most can't find africa or italy on a map. How many have heard of J.P Morgan, let along Rosa Parks.
The sooner you realize you are surrounded by inconsiderate imbeciles with very little curiosity about anything that does not directly enrich them the sooner you will understand the world.

Simply: No one likes to be "left out". It's the Jan Brady syndrome. "Why is everyone treated special except me". That's all it is. I'm sure Jews view Christmas in a simular way. For the longest time this country has been a very strong "white Christian" country and now we are recognizing more and more of our minorities. Which is only right.

In the wrong section, but I'll bite

People usually don't care about things that don't really affect or concern them.

And PS white people have 11 months dontated to them in their country to learn about their history in their country. I mean that's what I learned when I was in school and didn't complain.

Hafsa. They are not the ones that treated blacks as slaves and they did not ransport them from Africa. That happened over 200 years ago. The people that did that are very dead. I dont like it because everyone knows what happened but for some reason we have to be reminded of it every year. Get over it and look to the future, not to the past.

Okay, first off......I'm white, see pic. I love Black History Month, I love the focus, and I think every single month should have a focus. Kids would learn more. I think because we dont......that leads to the "why don't white people have their own month?" questions. I don't know the answer........except to smile at everyone and say, "did you know it's Black History Month? What do you think of..................(fill in the blank)" It's all about education, and educating people.......engaging people to TALK about issues!! Blessings on your path!
