Okay, so...transgenders. I'm confused about the motives behind it. Why would someone want to have surgery, etc, done? Please explain.

****Please do not get angry at me for asking. I am uninformed in this area and am just asking an honest question. I am not judging or bashing anyone. Thank you.****

Perhaps you could look up transgender groups on the net and ask them.

I guess you accept your gender. Sexuality is just whom you feel better with. If you where the opposite sex from the one you were born into, would you feel out of step? Perhaps you would hate your own body.

While I would never have the surgery I know of people who feel they were born into the wrong gender.

You have gender, i.e. you are either male or female. You have sexuality, i.e you like men, women or both. There is also gender identity. Do an internet search on gender dysphoria and you'll see why some people feel an overwhelming need to take corrective surgery to become the person they feel inside. Its a fair question and so much better that someone takes the time to ask and find out. Good for you xx

First of all it isn't a mental illness as some people think it is !!!!!!!
it's a inborn medical condition called Gender Identity Disorder or Gender dysphoria (dysphoria means unhappiness.) so this happens to the individual before they are born round about 8 weeks or so of being inside your moms tummy. It's assumed that when we are born things should match i.e boys are boys and girls are girls, but as with most things in life a mismatch can occur. The human body is quite complex with genes/hormones racing around all over the place, sometime a gene/hormone doesn't reach the desired receptor in the body or the receptor is switched off when it shouldn't be or the lack off a certain hormone and so on. this creates the mismatch. some people maybe born male, but feel like a girl on the inside. As this is the case with myself i can say 100% it sucks. It causes extreme discomfort and unhappiness and in a lot of cases destroys lives. A large number of Trans people have either tried or successfully committed suicide due to the discomfort. Unfortunately we can't alter the way the brain works, but we can alter the body to match the brain in the hope it makes our lives more comfortable.the sugary is our salvation. Hope this helps.

People have the surgery, because inside they feel either as a woman or a men. So the trans genders, want to look they way they really feel.

if you're a girl, behave like one, think like one, feel like one, then look down and see a big hairy nut-sac between your legs, have people punching you in the shoulder and calling you 'dude', and are expected to hold doors open rather than having doors open for you, wouldn't you think about correcting things? it's about making the outside look like the way they feel on the inside so they can be treated as the gender they are, rather than the sex they are.

Because they feel that their personality and who they are in the interior doesnt fit their exterior individual. They feel like they arent themselves that they were born the opposite sex inside. They lifestyle doesnt fit their looks or who they portray to be.
