i have windows XP and i want to install a printer that supports windows 98 but the printer won't install on windows xp can someone help me or is it possible to connect this printer. the printer is a epson styus colour 640 ty

Does not look like XP supports this printer, your only option is to one sell your printer and buy a new one or downgrade your operating system to windows nt or 2000,98,95 etc

If the XP new hardware wizard or add printer wizard does not recognize the Epson, try searching the Epson web site for that model and see if they have XP drivers. Try this link:

and try the one listed for Win2000 if the win98 drivers dont' work

Why don't you try finding an XP driver for your printer at the manufacturers site or at http://www.driverguide.com

You can go to EPSON.com and get the up grade down load so you can install it if then you need up grade to new printer. Printers are getting real cheap in price now

You will need to get all new hardwar for your XP puter.. Windows XP does like OLD hardware and nor does it like some of the older software.. You will cause XP to crash and stop working. It is best to get a complete new system with all new components and new software..
