First off, I wouldn't recommend it, but it is possible. You'd be better off in anything thats rear wheel drive. Front wheel drive cars can't truly drift, but they can simulate drifting. The key to drifting is being able to shock the drivetrain into losing traction. In a front wheel car, this can be accomplished with the handbrake, but it is almost impossible to sustain for a long period. This is why rear wheel drive works best. They can initiate the drift by revving up high and then popping the clutch which results in a clean drift with lots of smoke, and the drift can be sustained using a combination of handbrake and throttle. If youre going to drift in your car, youre going to look retarded and put unneccessary wear on your tires. My friend and I were messing around in his car last summer in an abondoned parking lot in his Nissan Altima, we were "drifting" with the handbrake and doing donuts and such when the cops showed up. Be careful. He got an 8 point reckless driving ticket.

Contrary to belief, front wheel cars can drift. FWD drifting takes alot of practice to do properly, but there are lots of FWD cars out on drifting tracks.
FWD drifting requires alot manueveuring, modulating the throttle, and hand brake usage
Try this as a practice in an empty parking lot. This will help you gain feel for drifting.
Moderately accelerate towards a turn.
Start by cutting the wheel towards the turn somewhat sharply.
Pull on the hand brake (e-brake) as you are cutting the wheel. ( Let go of the handbrake as soon as you pull it)
The rear wheels of the car should break traction, and the car will start to somewhat drift.
Power out of the turn with the gas.
It is not an easy to do, but with alot of practice people have controlled it, and have drifted quite well on drift tracks.
Be careful though, alot of drifting will do unneccessary wear and tear on your drivetrain, suspension, and tires. Eventually the tires will have flat spots on them from pulling the ebrake.
Try it, Practice makes perfect.

Yes you can, but you better know what you're doing because drifting in a front wheel drive is much harder than drifting in a rear wheel or all wheel drive car.
Look at all the magazines and videos on drifting, you'll notice the majority of the cars are rear wheel drive and the remaining are all wheel drive cars.

Most of the "Tuner" cars you see do this have had extensive work and money put into them, most all of them are front wheel drive. Now for my question, "WHY", first off this does damage the front end, the brakes, the suspension, and to include"THIS IS A STUPID THING TO DO", unless this is on a sanctioned track, with at least someone on site who can be of assistance medically, and who knows c.p.r., and maybe how to use a fire extinguisher

Sure you can. Take it out to the track and try it out. Be aware it puts a lot of stress on the vehicle, and may just damage it. Also be aware if you don't know what you are dong you can run into things causing even more damage.

You would have to be crazy to try it without some serious suspension mods and a well built roll cage. You would also need to invest some serious money under the hood.

You want to ruin your car because you think it looks cool?
Unless you have the money to replace the car and/or do extensive repairs, DON'T DO IT.
