we're all animals if you think about it, humans just have the ability to reason. An din some cultures they still eat human flesh, so if they're aren't killing just for sadistic pleasure and for food, isn't somewhat the same as killing a cow?

of course it is..
The reason of our life on earth is survival.. you kill animals to stay and thats why you should kill all the animals and no humans

I guess it depends upon whether you consider the life of a human to be more valuable than the life of a cow. If not then killing a human for food is no worse than killing a cow for food. However we live in a society that require rules in order to keep it from decending into chaos. And part of those rules is that killing a fellow human for any reason is a crime. So under these circumstances it is not the same to kill a human as it is to kill a cow.

Nope and let's go to the why. Speaking on an anthropological point of view, if a native is invaded, they will resort to cannibalism-it's called survival. Are you familiar with the story of humans doing this when helicopters crash and they ate the dead? I hate to sound morbid, but it's been known to happen. A good case study of the survival p.o.v and if you have the stomach for it, you'll want to watch a film called Cannibal Holocaust. This contains a spoiler; the real cannibals turned out to be the americans in the film- I mean really, if you have seen this film and understand, you'll know what I'm talking about. On the other side of things, there are the pyschological and extreme cases of pyschosis- like Jeffrey Dahmer, which is probably one of the most horrific things I can think of.

yes! but no!!

it's not exactly the same as killing a cow, but only because we in teh west don't value the cow or have many sentimental views towards it that would prohibit us from killing it. There are people in this world that would rather die before they witnessed a cow being killed because it represents their God and they regard it as their mother. To the Hindu, the cow symbolizes all other creatures & is sacred.

At the same time there is a case to be made, i think for someone who decided to eat their pet instead of bury or cremate them.
You might find it revolting but you can't avoid the logic in it. You've got your pet living on in you (or part of it at least!)

There are even places where the old people of the family are not buried & (yes you guessed it!) they're eaten because food and coffins are scarce and funerals are impossible... i know this happens in parts of korea & china, cannibals also exist in parts of north west africa & where as cannibalism is illegal in most european countries, it's not in France.

Even in eating most plants, you take a life. It's the natural order that some lives are sacrificed for others to survive. How do we judge which lives are sacrosant and which ones are forfeit?

It isn't natural to eat members of your own species. I'm not aware of any species in nature that does it -- except maybe some insects and arachnids.

I'm not vegetarian, but I do take issue with how our food animals are treated. They are kept in misery, disease, and distress their entire lives, then we eat these unhealthy animals and think that somehow they will keep us healthy. Even our plants are grown in depleted soil and sprayed with all manner of chemicals. We no longer honor the lives that are given in order for ours to continue. Is cannabalism that much worse, really?

I actually believe that. I think it's the same since we're all just a bunch of animals. lol... this reminds me of that video on youtube called "what we are."

You should watch that if you haven't already. It's HILARIOUS! We just think we're above other animals due to Social Darwinism, but in the end, we're all just pieces of flesh. *shrugs* It irks me that people value their own existence way above others, thinking that they're the only ones who should feel happiness.

Humans are animals, but we are different from the other animals. There are those of us who believe humans are on the top of the food chain. If you think humans are not supposed to be omnivorous, please consider the fact that we have four pointy teeth.

Besides, there are some animals that will eat their own kind, but most eat different species.

"worse" only has meaning from a particular perspective/context.
so objectively, of coarse not... because purely objectively, thinking as if i were not a human... "worse", "good" etc don't exist.. so as far as a real answer...and since real answers have nothing to do with humans. no its not worse... now if you'll allow me to become subjective again "how dare you eat my sister you &^%*&^!!!!"

hahaha.. ya.. it is the same as killing a cow... just as "bad" in the big picture. or just as "good"... cuz in the big picture they are the same thing.

i applaude your objectivity.

Yes, it is, and let me explain why. We are waging an actual war on animals; our purpose is to be rid of them all. Think about it: why are there so few vegetarians out there? Our sole purpose is to consume animal life, and even veggies know this deep inside, because by eating vegetables, they are contributing to make scarcer the foodstuffs that herbivorous animals eat, and that is where us carnivores come in, we kill 'em off in their moments of weakness.

Thus, humans are our allies in this war, we have to stick together and kill all animal life, not eat humans. That's also why you got your insect munchers, those strange cultures where it's OK to eat roaches and spiders and slugs and what not; they know it as well as we do, the poor ignorant bastards. They too are fighting animal life, loathing it, seething over its mundane existence.

We must unite and erradicate animal life, for good, once and for all!!!

Yeah. Murder of human beings is against the law in most countries. Killing a cow won't get one in nearly the trouble.

Seems OK to me. I don't know that I like the idea of killing a human as if they were prey, but for some reason I have no problem with the idea of consuming human flesh.
