Yes, don't. Depending what you are using it for it can cause scarring, but long term use causes the skin to "thin" and if you are using it incorrectly you could become infection prone.

What does it say on the label? It probably says something like "if symptoms don't clear up after 7 days discontinue use and consult a doctor." Those warnings are there for a reason (and not just because their lawyers made them put it there).
