Do you think he cheated?

Personally I think he might have had.Maybe he did or maybe not...he is the only one who knows. All I do know is that he took of whatever it was after the 1st inning and still dominated the Cards.

And another thing why is it so hard to believe that maybe it was just dirt or maybe he had forgotten to take it off before coming out of the bullpen. Is it because of the issues he has had in the past so he seems like an easy target.

In my opinion he is making history fair and square and you should enjoy it instead of trying to find a way to critisize it.

Here's what I think. Whether he was cheating or not, it's only 1 inning of 1 game. So what if the Cards lost that game? It's a world SERIES for a reason. They have 5 more games to play.

I just saw three comparison pictures in the Sports section of my local paper today, where Rogers' hand was shown each time with a yellowish substance on it as he was getting ready to release a pitch. My conclusions:
1) It's pretty unlikely that the dirt would always be the same color no matter where he was playing.
2) That stuff on Rogers' hand looks suspiciously like tobacco juice. I'm a janitor, and that's something I have to clean up a -lot-!

Whatever it was, he got rid of it after the first inning. The Cards did not hit him the rest of the night anyway. So any excuses from the Cardinals would be extremely lame. Rogers pitched an excellent game. Period.

Okay.... Okay...

To baseball people the fact that Kenny cheated doesn't matter because "everybody" is doing it. Tony LaRussa the manager of the Cardinals should be ashamed because he did not put the interest of his team before his loyalty to "unwritten laws" of the game.

I love the Cardinals, but they deserve to lose. When you're in the series, you do all you can legally to win. They did not do that and may cost them to lose the series.

Now, about Kenny Rogers, I think he is a lying scumbag. Its bad enough that he cheated. But to lie and expect us to believe it when we saw the evidence our self, its almost comical for him to come up with that explanation. He must think we're stupid!

But, Rogers is but another example why baseball is eventually going to die in America. Baseball players are spoiled cheats who don't care about the game and they don't realize that their fan base shrinks every year. Many think that baseball already is slow and boring. Having scumbags in the sport will only hurt them.

My guess is that in another 10 years, baseball may be on par with soccer or men's tennis. But, those in the game don't care. By then, they'll have gotten their money and run.

dirt?! who are you trying to kid? why would dirt be that yellowy color?why would dirt miraculously be in the same spot on his hand in 3 different games? and why would the refs make him go wash "dirt" off his hand? odviously it was pine tar and everybody knows it. he was odviously cheating and has been in every game he's pitched in the playoffs! thats why he's got this amazing no hitting streak of 23 innings or whatever! the question is- why isnt anyone doing something about it? that's what gets me!

Yeah I noticed that Kenny Rogers has this kind of thingy on his hand. I also noticed that he had it on every game he pitched which is weird because if it was dirt then not every game he would have it. I think hes a great pitcher or hes just a sore loser, cheater.

I feel that it is time to put the controversy to rest. The umpires felt that there was nothing illegal, so it's time for the media to let it go and not allow what happened to be a distraction for the next game.

Worry about what really makes the game unfair, if your going to worry, like the use of steroids...

He had the "dirt" on his hand against the Yanks and A's too. Seems like one hell of a coincidence to me. The guy cheated and its digracefull he is on a team with such young and talented arms. Rogers is an black spot on a great team that can win without him.

it was just pine tar to get some grip on the ball, all pitchers do it, even tho its banned. thats why no one complained. plus does it matter? he took it off and pitched the rest of the game excellently. People need to drop this.
