What does that mean when someone says they are biding time? Did i even say that phrase correctly? Is that how it is spelled?

"Biding my time" means that I'm waiting for the most opportune moment to do something very specific.

It's also a Pink Floyd song title... :-)

It means waiting for something to happen. By saying that they mean that they are waiting for something before they do something about it. Make sense? Your sentence is correct.
