In the bible it says satan is a beautiful creature, we assume he is a man becuase of the name Leucifur, but he is a fallen angel, and angels are sexless. so by casting a woman and make her look sexless he is creating a seductive evil that would be the real lucifer.

In that scene Satan is meant to appear both alluring and creepy. Woman (as least in my judgment) are more alluring than men.

I wasn't aware it was a female in that role. Couldn't tell, Satan looked androginous to me. Either way, who cares? No spiritual being has a sex anyway.
