Sorry World! The US Government. But feel free to grade us anyway, if you happen to have an opinion on how we're running the show over here.

I see nothing on there that rates better than an F. However, to be kind and fair, I'll give all but the last two a D-. The last two get an F-, particularly the President part. Since January, 2001, the government hasn't accomplished a damn thing that will help the common man. In addition, the government has neglected needed services for those who need them - except of course unless they're wealthy (Trent Lott gets government assistance to rebuild his home which was destroyed in Katrina while there are thousands of people who would just love to be able to move into one of those FEMA trailers). And so it goes with the Bush administration.

balancing deficit - there is plenty of money now just need to manage the way they spend it> revenue is not the issue it is the spending > this answers questions 1 and 2. Even the GAO states the real risk to our deficit is the spending.

Preserving Social Security and Medicare - do you see the democrats actually working on this? republicans tried but couldn't get enough votes to pass

The rise in healthcare benefits - perhaps the real question is tort reform to stem the high costs doctors pass on to consumer topay for their malpractice insurance.

Iraq has democracy - didn't you notice all the blue fingers? It is the insurgents from Iran and Syria that are fighting democracy in the middle east

Arresting Bin Laden - know this shows what is wrong with your thinking. We don't want him arrested we want him dead. But since he is really huddled in some cave some where ineffective except for an occasional video. Haven't seen a new video lately because the latest news is that he died. Didn't you see that? Been waiting for a recent video sent out by him to prove otherwise. Nope..

Keeping American People Informed - by informed do you mean leaking highly classifed information so that all the world knows what we are planning. That is like the football coach hand his plays to his opponent and saying let the best man win.

Constitutional rights - I have not lost one single constitutional right - however, in WWII many laws were passed in order to WIN the war and we got them all back after we won. We have checks and balances in our governmental system that keep the powers in check.

Decreasing the size of government - big failure. but that would be taking the socialist's power away and that is not going to happen any time soon.

Spreading democracy within the US - ?? That would only happen if we totally got rid of the democrats - they are the socialist side of the government.

Reducing Hate Crimes - this is a local government issue not a federal government issue. But more hate crimes are perpetrated on those of Jewish decent than any other race....bet you didn't know that one...

Improving response time, i.e. Katrina - once again this is a local government issue. If you look at the other regions MS, AL they were managed by Repulican's at the state and local level, they didn't have the issues of New Orleans. Texas has a disaster recovery plan that was copied by Oklahoma and surrounding states that would have benefited Louisiana to model after, but they didn't...

Proper usage of guns on a firing range - once again a local issue and should be governed on a state by state basis. what is your point of reference, which state? As far as Texas, Oklahoma, California etc. These states regulate this issue well.

Advancing medical technology through federal funding - considering that every invention or innovative breakthrough has come through private funding, research or capitalisim why would i want the government involved in medical technology? Have you been to the DMV? Internal Revenue office? Social Security office? Have you seen how they function? Piss *** poor.

Promoting math and science in our schools to compete with other nations - So long as you have the unions involved in education you will have mediocrity. privatizing school allows for competition, competition breeds excellence. Throwing money at the issue will not solve it just creates more corruption.

Making aviation safer in the past 5 years? what is your baseline? There are far more accidents on the road than in air. We haven't had a hyjacking?

Reducing poverty and narrowing the gap between wealthy and poor - once again big brother mentality - as a handout does not encourage betterment. Teach a man to fish versus giving him a fish.. etc. This class warfare mentatility reallly doesn't accomplish much, because if someone gave you a million, you'd take it. And, this country is the only country that you can actually have a chance at working your way out of poverty.

Fighting for workers rights - once again this is a local governmental issue not this depends on the individual city or state you live in.. mine is very good at this.. so much so they have crippled the economy and made it so difficult to have a company here they are leaving this state and going elsewhere. now there are less jobs here ..gee see how that works?

Protecting the environment - see above.. same.. jobs now gone state has done such a good job..

reducing the cost of oil and or bringing alternative energies - gee you really are a socialist aren't you? this is not the government's responsibility. Supply and demand takes care of costs it's economic theory. alternative energies... once again it is best if the capitalism is allowed to operate and necessity becomes the mother of invention or innovation.

bring moral values to the american people - that would require taking away peoples freedoms - can't legislate morality - it is a heart thing -

Reducing corruption in politics - absolute power corrupts absolutely - perhaps term limits? not gonna happen without a revolution

President - considering what has been thrown at him - figure he's better than Gore or Kerry - took the lesser of the evils here

Congress - this is the real problem. career politicians have been in office way too long - term limits.. needed badly..

I would give a grade of F- for everything.
There needs to be a complete turn around in every aspect to the way issues are handled in the US.
There needs to be democracy in USA. The USA is just a haven for big business and the super rich. The USA is not a democracy.
A democracy is for the people. The USA Politicians work for big business. The politicians are really appointed by big business. The election process is a scam. look at what happened in Florida and bush. the propositions have hidden agendas that bring laws that protect the big business. Bolivia is a democracy. the USA does not like it because it nationalizes everything and hurts big US business. but it is what the local indigenous people want.
just as an example on the abortion issue. there should be an election. Yes for abortion and no for no abortion. end of discussion. what ever the majority want, that is what happens.
we vote on the war in Iraq. let the people decide. not what is good for big business.

D's and F's for the most part. There are a few that the gov shouldn't be doing anyway (safe gun handling, fed funding of medical stuff, reducing the cost of oil-- they can't, they shouldn't be bringing moral values to american people either)

Aviation is safer overall-- so B

Grade F... for everything else on you list.

Don't forget to vote all the bums out come next election. It's your only hope.

According to the constitution most of those are not the federal governments responsibility (Executive Branch). The Major responsibility is to protect it's citizens! And on that...A+
