Misery
Silver Bullet
Those are scary but not as scary as Saw or Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds" it is a good one. Scary but not too Scary. Psycho now is laughable although in it's day it was considered one of the scariest. Another Hitchcock classic which would be good is "rear window" although old, it is scary.

The Exorcist is pretty scarey but so much has been written about it and so many people have seen it that it shouldn't scare you too bad. The original Night of the Living Dead is scarey.
