It will not go away ,however you can control it through diet. I've been one for 4 years and found that staying away from the junk really helped control my sugar levels. I found that what works for me is the low carbs/ more protein diet and lots of water. Tea is also good ,as it has antitoxins that help your kidneys out. I gave up drinking alcohol too, it's a change of lifestyle you will have to make. You will feel better for it.

I have Nursed many patients over my forty years of Nursing. I have seen many approaches to treatment of Neuropathy. Neurontin still had the greatest effect on chronic Neuropathy. I have seen and participated in many newer approaches and yet found that our patients did not benefit long term from any of them. Neurontin is not without its own side effects as well. It is one ot the most painful of processes so I am hoping that you will find answers that can help. I have been retired for over a year so there may be treatments that are more helpful today. Good question and great information for all to know.

You can help control your diabetes by diet, true.

Losing some weight can increase blood flow to make you feel better.

No, it won't completely go away, but it could IN THEORY go from type 2 diabetes to type 1, depending upon the health of the pancreas

A friend of mine, after losing the weight & using Chromium Picolinate & Spirulina to stabilize her blood sugars was able to have the diagnosis reversed. However, now she deals with the symptoms, such as Diabetic neuropathy & visual problems.
However, her blood sugars are stable & she no longer needs insulin.
Ever consider going vegetarian?

If it's diet or tablet controlled, you may have a chance. Seems to me you're doing a great job. Keep up the good work
