I am looking for gift ideas that are outside the proverbial box. We've been toegher for 4 1/2 years. He's very outdoor-sy and loves working out. he also likes reading war novels, movies, and playing first-person shooter videos games on x360. I want to avoid gift cards as they are not unique. I was thinking along the lines of the outdoor stuff but i'm not knowledgeable on that kind of stuff and wouldn't want to get something that isn't of good quality. Here are a few gifts that he's given me so you can see the ways he thinks outside the box: leather jacket, first-skydive jump, tattoo that he designed. Thanks for the help.

I thought about the x360 but i'm still in school so it is a little pricey right now. Besides his buddy is living with us and he has one for the time being.

You can try sport-store first since your bf likes to work out, there are workers in sport-stores that may help you to find good items for your bf to work out. You can also find items that you use for outdoor in sport-stores too.
YOu can go to Target, Bestbuy, Circuit City if you decide to buy him a new video-game.
After all, you know more details about him than other people online.

Get him a two person hammock. They're great because you can both hang out outside together on a nice fall, spring or summer day. He can play his PSP and you can read a magazine - AND you're outdoors.
Everybody wins.

go to the beach and take pictures on midnight then on xmas giv him a leather jacket with the pictures on the pocket

what about personalized ID tags and now i hear you can pictures on em so maybe it can be you and him on a pretty outdoor scene, and then he can wear it when he works out!
