They do it all on their own and don't worry in no time you will be wondering what you are going to do with all those babies.

It is more difficult to keep guppies FROM breeding actually. As other posters have mentioned, you should have more females than males. Usually, a two to one ratio is plenty. One female will usually be the most sought after by the most active male, and the males can drive her crazy!
Having more than one male helps to difuse over zealous behavior as they tend to get in the way of each other and that can give the females a little break. You should make sure that there is plenty of cover for females and babies. That increases your chances of having less stress and more babies.
I hope you have at least a 10 gallon tank, or it is going to be over crowded very quickly. If you want to really maximize your survival rate, you can get a breeder cage to place females in when they show that they are getting ready to give birth. Most pet stores should have these and be able to help you find them.
Just providing adequate cover, both at the water surface with floating plants and the bottom, should give you a survival rate that will amaze you. Some babies will prefer to hide at the water surface and some will head down, but you should also make sure there is a connection route between the two so they can avoid open water.
I used 10 feeders to cycle my 55 and I had about three times that many by the time I was ready to add fish. If your water is too cold, poluted or acidic it can also slow down the breeding rate. So you might want to double check the water quality and make sure it is warm and clean for them, since that is about all they really need to breed like crazyl. Lastly, if you have any other fish species in the tank, you should post that information as most any fish consider baby guppies a delicacy.
Good luck!

well first make sure you have 2 diff sexes and if you dont have a heater you may need to get one and also maybe add a little aquariam salt to their water if you havent already casue they prefer a slightly brakish enviorment. The should do it on their own but once a guppy is pregnant for a while put it in a seperate tank then when it gives birth you can put it back the fry need a tank of their own. You will soon have to many guppys to count so have enough aquriams or at least large clear rubbermaid containers to seperate the males and female when you want them to stop

It's best to have more females than males in the tank for starters. When the females are pregnant, just before they give birth the underside of their bellies will be darker. Make sure you have plants (artifical or real) and/or smooth rocks on the bottom of your tank where the babies can hide until they're large enough to fend for themselves, otherwise the adults -males and females- will eat the babies. Be sure to give a little extra food during that time, for the extra food will sink and the babies will feed off of it.
I've bred guppies for many years. If you have any more questions about it or need more advice go ahaid and contact me.

Make sure you have a male to every female and the will take care of the rest. I know because I started out with 4 guppies now I have two many to count. Just had about 15 day.
Good luck.
Males are very pretty with long fins. Females are not so pretty.

They breed like crazy, Guppies are the horniest fishes in the aquarium world. Make sure you have at least a ratio of one male to 6 females, he will keep them pregnant all the time.

i was having the same problem tell i did this you need two females to every male i would start out with a trio you need to get a sponge filter so the fry wont get sucked up and you need to have plenty of plants that float and that are submerged for the fry to hide in you also need to make sure your water temp is around 80-84Degrees Fahrenheit because they are tropical fish it takes 21 to 31 days for them to have fry you will no if your female is pregnant if her graved spot is black and big plus they have to be old enough to breed other wise they should go at it like rabbits they may just need time

Perhaps either a bowl or a tank with some water in it. Maybe dim the lights and play some soft music to get them "in the mood"
