do electricians make more money than a diesel mechanic,in need of a new career and am confused on which route to go,please help out

It really depends on what type of electrician you end up being. Typically, if they work with a contractor, they start out at about $8-12 /hr depending on what part of the country you're in and progress to $25-30 as a Journeyman. Once you get your Master Electricians license, you should be able to work alone and clear about $100 -125K per year. Again, this will depend on your location, the type of work you do (residential, commercial or industrial) and how good you are at your work. If you choose the union route, you'll go through an apprenticeship for 3-5 years and end up as a Journeyman. You still will be making about 80 -100K plus union benefits, which are considerable. Electricians make very good money.I just had one wire an entire shop up to code.He charged me 2700.00 for 3 days worth of work.Learn the business then start your own.
