As stupid as it may sound yes there is some prejudice within some of the Black communities. Light skinned Blacks are better than dark skinned Blacks. This sort of stupidity numbs the mind but there are people who believe this crap.

Unfortunately, there is prejudice within the races, especially in the African American race. During slavery, slave owners would pit one complexion against the other, and sorry to say those same ideas have stayed within the black community ever since. Lighter complected blacks sometimes believe they were/are better than darker complected blacks because they are closer to white, and sometimes have the physical attributes of a white person...which in slave times meant that they were closer to their white slave master.

Yes but before that... the Rwanda genocide was a direct result of this practice... the "GB/England "power that invaded this land told the minority ethnic group that they were better and put them in charge of the majority ethnic group Hutu's Tutsi tribe.. this worked till the invaders left . now the majority group wanted equal rights etc.. this caused the genocide.. neighbor against neighbor..
In the US "back in the day" a similar practice was used/ enacted by a man from England.. he proposed setting the lighter slaves as superior over the darker slaves.. in jobs, prestige ect... this worked and sad to say became self-propelled... to this day,
hence the term "Good" Hair vs "Nappy "Hair and so on, most recent example Brown Vs Board of Education Doll test .. Children were asked which doll was "Good " which was not used were Black and White skinned dolls

Sadly, the racisim proceeds within races. It can also be within cultures and nations of people who are considered the same race. Common in Southeast Asia.

There is prejudice within not only every race, but every religion, nationality, career, and any other gamet of life you can find. The question itself is prejudice. Human nature creates a need to be better than someone else, to find your own faults in someone else; we do so in every aspect in life.

I believe there is prejudice against people of the same race, like when I was younger I had VERY LONG hair & other black people would pull it, & ask me was it real.

I believe so because they look different. It seems that people don't like differences among the people. People want all the people to look the same even though it will never happen no matter what.
