tools >> Internet options >> advanced >>multimedia>>use image placeholders. Make sure that it off.
On FF options>>content>>load images - make sure that this is on.

Some sites require cookies. There are pros and cons to everything and you have to make a decision. Either you will accept cookies or not.
If you do not, and you download a file with graphics, the next time you open the file you will see red Xs.
If you do, you will get tons of SPAM and probably catalogs from stores you never heard of.

Some people turn off pictures so web pages will open faster.. (for dial up usually.)
Open an internet page...Go To.
Tools
Internet options
Advanced tab
Multimedia
Check ... Show Pictures.
Click Apply and OK

That's where pics used to be. The last time you were on the same website it had pics in those spots. This time the site has moved or deleted the pics and your computer can't read them..thanks

This just means that the picture that should be showing hasn't / can't be downloaded.

check your browser settings, it is blocking pictures, go to tools, internet options, security and adjust accordingly.
