I am trying to find a German song. It sounded like 'du du lich mer in hertsen' and meant 'you are in my heart

it goes something like this:

DU, DU liegst mir im Herzen, DU DU liegst mir im Sinn,

Translation literally:
You you are in my heart, you you are in my mind
You You cause me a lot of pain, you dont know how much i like you.

lyric:

You you are making my heart ache, not knowing the love i am in.
or something like that.

it is what we call a Schunkellied. the correct recitation requires along with a high level of alcohol, that the singers (everyone really, spoil sports are frowned upon heavily) hook their arms into their neighbour's arms and sway their upper bodies left and right in unison.
as schunkellieder go, it is a quite old one, and accordingly decent in wording and meaning. i assure you there are FAR more... shall we say interesting ones? :))

Du, Du, lichst mir in Hertzen, does indeed mean 'You are in my heart'. It's quite a famous German song and is played ad nauseum at Oktoberfests everywhere. If you have a music store near you, check out the accordion music books, as almost every accordionist seems to know this song.
