I give my 2mths old daughter medicine from a dropper, she takes 1/2 tsp, and she always spits out quite a bit of it so I know that she didn't get the full dose. Should I give her more, and if so how much more, or should I just leave it alone?

Medicine Dispenser Pacifier
The easiest way (ever!) to give baby medicine. It's brilliant! This ingenious pacifier gently dispenses medicine as baby sucks--no more struggling or spilling sticky meds. Just fill the clever reservoir, with built-in measuring indicator.
To assist the process, depress the plunger (it locks in place once meds are dispensed). Holds up to five ml, or one teaspoon. Silcone nipple is orthodontically approved. Easy to clean.

I have one and LOVE it!! I don't know if any other store carries it but, I got mine at onestepahead.com I have ordered a ton of things from them and not one complaint. It's $9.95.

I wouldn't give her anymore because that last thing you want to do is overdose her.

Hope this helps. Good Luck

I had the same problem with my son. At first I just left it alone, but it wasnt helping so what I did, with my doctors okay was then do half of the original dose. Most of that got spit out, but he wasn't being overdosed and he was getting closer to the right amount. Don't be afraid to call the doctor or a nurses hot line though. Even when the question seems stupid or embarressing, they would rather answer ur question then have anything happen to your baby. It was the best advice I ever got. good luck

When you give it to her, make sure you are putting the dropper in her cheek deep in her mouth, you won't make her choke, but it will be in there enough that all of it won't come out... and make sure her head is back far enough.
And if she still is seeming to be spitting up all of the medicine, put just alittle bit more medicine in the dropper, just a tiny bit, so you know she will at least get enough....

I hate it when that happens! I guess it depends. I might try giving her a little more or I might wait and see if she seems to be doing better and then decide. Is there something she really likes that you could take a little and mix in her medicine and maybe get it down her that way? You wouldn't want to mix it in too much of anything in case she didn't finish it. I would also ask the doctor or pharmacist if it's okay to mix it in something else. I worked in a pharmacy years and years ago and I seem to remember that the pharmacist had some flavors that he could mix into liquid meds in order to get kids to take them. You might ask about that too.

The best thing to do is call a nurse. It depends on the kind of medication you are giving her.

i have the same problem with my son. i do it little by little. squeeze a bit into her mouth and let her swallow. continue to do this until its empty. if you think she needs more then give her 1/2 of what you would give her normally
