If you use a small enough amount to make no suds, (like 2 tablespoons) then the clothes won't get clean. I've read that you can use regular detergent together with fabric softener in the wash cycle to get rid of the suds. I know the FS will definitely remove the suds -- I just don't know if the clothes will get as clean.
