Women always had rights in this country. Early in our history, some of those rights were limited.

They gained the right to vote accross the country in 1920. Some states allowed women's sufferage before then. Wyoming was the first state to do so in 1860's.

Women gained the right to vote August 26th 1920, with the 19th admendment of the constitution.
