I think Mario is the BETTER dancer, but in all fairness, he has dancing experience and that shouldn't be allowed...Joey is just an actor who has LEARNED to dance on this show, which I thought was supposed to be the idea...

That is not correct. They would have no way to block the lines of Latino people. The lines are typically busy for more than an hour after the show ends. Yes, we all know that Mario was the better dancer but Emmitt had the bigger fan base. Many people had never heard of Mario before this but anyone who has paid any attention to football knows who Emmitt is. Plus, he had the big gruff 'all man' look and more men can identify with that then with Mario's handsomeness.
