do you think rose died or was asleep,

i think she's died but in the song 'my heart will go on' the lyrics say-

"every night in my dreams i see you i feel you"

meaning she could just be asleep, that said the song wasent written by James Cameron, Whereas the film was, Cameron dosent reveal this on the commentary either for the duluxe/special edition.

just wondered what do you think?

She died in her sleep at the end of the movie.

There was a bit of foreshadowing, earlier on, when Jack was telling Rose that she was NOT going to die the night the Titanic went down. He told her that she was going to live a long life, have plenty of children, and die an old woman in her sleep. That's why the camera panned across all of the pictures she had of herself and her family throughout the years. It proved that she DID live the life Jack meant for her to live by sacrificing his own.

She dies in her sleep after throwing the diamond back into the sea. Remember what Jack tells her as he's dying, that she'll die an old old lady warm in her bed? That's what happened.

The song lyrics are talking about her feelings for Jack during her long life and how she missed him always.

What! Cameron didn't reveal this! Did he finally get tired of this major ego trip for him? I was bored sh--less in the first ten minutes.

For pete's sake, the woman wouldn't make room for Jack on the floating board, and continued her hedonistic lifestyle for another 90 years. She has no intention of dying. I can't believe Cameron didn't try to do a sequal....ulp, I shouldn't have said that!!!!!

Rose did not die. If you remember watching at the end of the film where she held the necklace? Well Rose threw the necklace in to the water. She also narrated part of the film. Great movie

I believe that James Cameron had intended for it to appear as though she had finally put the story and Jack to rest. And now she was able to die peacefully. so yes she died in her sleep
