this is a hard one to explain. Short of it is I have at least one person believing that I said something that I did not. She repeated this and now several people believe that i said something that i did not. Although, I have figured out how this misunderstanding happened, I kow that others have discussed it because i have seen the looks made between several af them when the topic comes up. I find myself in a very uncomfortabvel situation and would like to be able to adress this in an effective and Christian manner. Please give me some suggestions. I know I will problaby not convienve anyone of my innocence but I would like for the talk to stop.

Lots of Christians say *&*##^ you! But I know that you are polite and don't want to try that route.

Like many polite people, you just have to go to the source and say, "I'm sorry, but you must have misunderstood me...what I said was....." If the person still insists they heard you say something you don't think you said, the polite way to approach it would be to say, "I don't recall saying such a thing and can't imagine that I did, but if I did, I'm certainly sorry about that and didn't mean to say it that way. I'm very sorry that that is what you understood me to say. Please do me a favor and don't spread that around any more as its very embarrassing to me and I really don't think I said that."

That's what a polite person would say...Christian or no.

You can either go to the person who initially misquoted you and simply try explain yourself in a friendly matter so that there is a high level of understanding or you can do the most Christian thing of all "forgive and forget."
Because as longas this misquotation does not get you into any trouble then it doesnt realy matter!
hope i helped you out!

Just say that there must have been a misunderstanding and tell them the truth. It is up to the other person to decide if the misunderstanding was intentional or not.

You should not have to explain to anyone if you know in your heart what the truth is . God knows , so who cares the harder you try the further you will get in .
