Some folks are just a little insecure with themselves in "who they are." They want people to like or respect them, and try to give the others the presentation of who they think they will like.

BECAUSE they are AFRAID if they are their own person and unique that they will NOT be accepted or loved as they are -- so that they are willing to sacrifice their individuality for the sake of a temporary pleasure or satisfaction.
