No way!
If you're dumb enough to ignore what's going on in the country and let someone else choose who gets to make new laws for you, then you deserve to have a President whom you may not like.
I'm tired of everyone trying to make things maditory. Grow up, act like adults, and do what adults do, without being told to do it like you were 10.

Voting is a right and a privilege - paying taxes is a legal obligation.
Making it mandatory to vote is kind of at odds with the term, "freedom."
I understand your point, though, and it's never been truer that "In a democracy, the people get the government they deserve."

Nah, i think voting is something that you can either do if you want, or if you don't want to. It's an option, and it'de be nearly impossible to enforce voting. America has the lowest registered voters percentage in the world. the main cause of this is probably just because we're lazy and don't think it's worth the time. We think it's too much work to walk our a**ses down the the nearest elementary school, as to where in Iraq, when their president was elected, people were waiting in line the night BEFORE and sleeping outside waiting to vote.

No. No way. A lot of people would whine no matter who went into office. Also, a lot of people are not qualified to vote, Mentally. Also, a voter is in a private booth to vote, how are you going to make them vote??? I vote on major issues but on some issues that I do not understand, I refuse to vote on them and don't tell me to read and learn these issues. I refuse. Nice try, but won't work. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink and you will never stop people complaining.

No - and I believe you should have to pass some kind of intelligence test before you get to vote. There are thousands of idiots who think it's funny to write in cartoon characters and celebrities as candidates. Besides that, look at how many Einsteins in Florida thought their ballot was too hard to understand.

no, it takes no education or research to pay taxes, your employer does it for you, if you force people to vote they will likely screw up the elections and vote for things they dont want nor understand. i do think, however, that more education should be given to election process and how votes affect people. plus to qualify for public support (welfare, medicaid, etc) you should have to take classes.

Not when most people can't find their rear end with both hands, they would never be able to choose who to vote for.

No, because that would violate our freedom. I think that voting and taxes are completely different subjects...Everybody has money, not everybody has brains.

There is no law against apathy. If people are too lazy to vote that means my opinion is stronger.
