i love punk and rock and a little R&B but i hate rap!!! but my boyfriend loves rap and all that R&B stuff. so i told him that we'll see whats best by asking others and so far it has been even. so tell me what kind of music you like that way i can see what is best to listen to these days.

Definetly rock. There is soft rock, hard rock, and rockalbully. Rock has the most oppertuinties to choose from.

I'm exactly like you! I dig the rock n' roll but I feel like throwing something at someones head when I hear rap. (Rap is crap!) But anyways my favorite rock band is Tool. I'm sure you've heard of them. The reason why I love them is because their lyrics mean so much than these stupid rhyming ones nowadays that mean nothing, or close to it. And their music. My god. Live is another band I love, although it's more like soft rock(?). Anyway, stick with the rock! :)

i hate rap and pop passionatly. and punk is rock, just simplfied instrumentation and more angst and less artistry. i like em both. i like hardcore or heavy metal when i'm mad or just invigorated, or i'll take a ballad or something when i'm tired. i like intelligent music. good punk rock is just such. with an edge. there's alot of stupid punk rock bands, but there are a few intelligent ones. rise against is my favorite band.

stick with the rock music, it's much better than what your bf likes.
of course, don't go with bands like panic at the disco, they're not that special as everyone says.
