i need to move by feb and i can only aford a studio. can anyone help.

In Pasadena? In THAT price range? Forget it! You can't even get one that cheap in the worst areas of Van Nuys.

Pasadena, California? This isn't going to happen. You might be able to find a room with someone (or several people) in the high part of your range.
The house next door to my work rented for $2000 or so, and have five people splitting the house, so $500 each. A friend of mine lived on Los Robles (just N. of Colorado) in a studio. It was $500 a month, more than 5 years ago, and you only had a parking space during the night, not during the day.
Try areas a little farther away, especially if you have a car. Monrovia is good. Eagle Rock could be good. Some areas of San Gabriel, Alhambra might be good. It depends on where you work/go to school in Pasadena.
Start looking now, get a copy of the LA Times every Sunday (or go to the Library) so you can get a feel for what's real.

for that price you can share a room. try craisglist and the pasadena city website. contact the chamber of commerce and the LA times.
